the baby is four months old

How can you change a babies name once its already on a birth certificate and how do you actually start?
Go to the county courthouse and get the proper forms. If you are changing the babies entire name it costs more and they have to post it in the local newspaper to make sure that no one opposes the change. If you are just changing the babies last name, it should be a lot easier (and cheaper).
Reply:Are you changing the last name or the whole name? I know that if the father wants it changed and you are going through children services for child support then they can change the last name to the fathers last name easily...you will just have to go and get an updated birth certificate. To have the name changed and not go through child support then I know that here, Ohio, it is about $250.00 to get an attorney and have it legally changed!
Reply:go to the local registrars office and ask them for legal name change forms, you need to follow the directions on them, and send them in (cost is about 150 bucks) then apply for a new birthcerificate etc.
