What is your Opinion On London as a baby name?

I am 5 months pregnant with a baby girl.. And I was wondering what your opinion On the name " London Rayne Willems " Is. I Think London is a beautiful name and I was just wondering about other peoples thoughts on taht as It's a little Odd... And also Do you Think she will be teased?

What is your Opinion On London as a baby name?
I've always loved the name London. It actually rates #284 for popular girls names, so it's not incredibly rare. I think London Rayne is very lovely. I definately don't think she'll get teased. Maybe a little "London bridges....", but that should be it. I'd say kids get teased because of the kid, not the name, unless ofcourse it's a super unique and odd name (easily laughed at), but London doesn't fit that bill in my opinion. Use it if you love it :)
Reply:London Rayne? Don't you think it sounds a bit gimmicky?

I don't think it's a name for a child. It's the name of Britney Spears's dog, and that's all I can think of. I'm really not a fan of geographic places for names. I can understand, though, if you have a particular connection to the city.

I DO think, considering the rainyness of the city, that you should reconsider the middle name.
Reply:London isn't odd at all, I love it! Kids don't really tease about names these days like people think they do. I have an even more unusual name than London, and I have not once been teased for my name... ever. Most people just either say they love it or say that's different.

London is a cool name though, I say go for it!
Reply:I don't particularly like London, I do like Rayne though. How about:

Lauren Rayne Willems

Leslie Rayne Willems

Danielle Rayne Willems

Harlow Rayne Willems

Sarah Rayne Willems

Juliet Rayne Willems

Kylie Rayne Willems

Vivienne Rayne Willlems

Katy Rayne Willems

Cynthia Rayne Willems

I hope that covers a lot.

Best of Luck!!!
Reply:ok my little sister's name is london there's nothing wrong with that name it's nice. and i have a friend in 8th grade named london and people dont make fun of her but she spells it "londyne".
Reply:No, I don't think she'll be teased, and yes, I think the name is lovely. Absolutely beautiful. I love Rayne, too. People may think London Rain, but we know better.

TX Mom
Reply:I love names of cities for baby names. London, Dallas, Brooklyn, Denver. She probably won't be teased. Crazy names are becoming the new "in" thing. Look at Hollywood!

Good Luck!
Reply:I think its a beautiful name hunny, it sounds wonderful. I cant think of anything that could b teased about that name. best of luck for a happy healthy little London
Reply:I think London is a beautiful name anyone who teases her isn't worth knowing anyway..Id be more concerned for the ppl who will pronounce it "LonDUN"
Reply:I have a daughter named Londyn. Spelled a little different, but I love it and I still think it's adorable. :]
Reply:no way London is an awesome

name!

Hope everything goes well :)
Reply:London is nice. She will not get made fun of, I don't think. Its verry pretty.
Reply:I think it is pretty cute, although it kinda reminds me of The Suite Life of Zach and Cody...

What is a good baby name to go with Gage?
Tyler Gage

Mason Gage

Gage Ryan

Nichoulus Gage
Reply:I would say Jonathan, Johnny, John. That is a perfect name for him to grow up with and become a firefighter! Johnny Gage was a paramedic/firefighter on a 70's TV show called "Emergency" I would go with that name, but I'm a firefighter lol :) F.Y.I. Gages partner on squad 51 was Roy Desoto :D
Reply:You will like the cadence of the name if you can make it an odd number of syllables...but since I don't know how many syllables in your last name I can't follow that rule.

I also assume that this is a male child...Gage is most often identified as male.

So here goes with a couple - u pick what makes an odd number of syllables with the last name:

Calen Cage

Kenneth Gage

Paul Gage

Chance Gage

Gage Wessley

Gage Warren

Gage Wade

Can my daughter change her babies last name to hers instead of her having the absent father's last name?

She is getting ready to start kindergarten and we would like for her to have a last name of someone she knows, at least.

Can my daughter change her babies last name to hers instead of her having the absent father's last name?
I believe you can, just go to a family court judge and requset a change of the last name
Reply:she can but it will cost her and she'll probably have to attempt to contact the father if his name is on the birth cert. she'll proably have to do it through the courts too.
Reply:I think it has to be done thru the courts. It may take some time, too.
Reply:depnds what state you live in. most likely you'll have to get the father's consent to change the child's name. :(
Reply:It may depend on the state you are in as to what signatures you need. You may do it yourself or get a lawyer. You should be able to get the forms at your county courthouse (Register of Deeds? Ask, and they'll point you to the correct office). The office that gives you the forms are not allowed to answer questions; if you have questions regarding the forms, you need to speak to a lawyer. Lawyers usually charge $150-$200 for the entire process. File the paperwork. You'll receive official paperwork stating the name change, and possibly a corrected birth certificate (you may have to request this separately). After receiving the paperwork, you need to get the child's social security card changed to reflect the new name. Take your paperwork, birth certificates, etc to the Social Security office, or fill out the paperwork online (but you have to mail your official paperwork). You should get the corrected ss card w/ 4-6 wks.

I am trying to find were to go to register my babies name that i created any ideas?
There are some baby name websites that accept names. As for getting it to a book, Im not sure if they do that or not. I think the site is babynameworld.com.

What is the website where you type in a mom and dad's name, click 'go', and get the perfect baby name for you?

I think its called baby ocean or baby wizard, or something like that.

What is the website where you type in a mom and dad's name, click 'go', and get the perfect baby name for you?
There's a baby name generater website called www.babynamegenie.com that is similar to what you want, but I don't know if you actually type in Mom and Dad's name...

Give it a try though!

What is the most HORRIBLE new baby name you have ever seen?

In my case, I think "Teegan" (for a girl) takes the cake.

What is the most HORRIBLE new baby name you have ever seen?
Ashole (Ash-O-Lee)
Reply:Yeah - I always thought Teegan (and Keegan) were pretty damned ugly. I also think Camden, Parker and Avery for girls are just plain hideous. For boys I think Ocean is pretty bad - I've seen some people on here recommending it. I think its dreadful.

The worst I saw on YAnswers was probably a woman who wanted to name her child either Apricot Gaia or Whisper secrets. It hurt my soul. She was so determined to name her child one of those godawful names.

I don't know why, but nobody seems to think those as bad as I think they are. I mean. HONESTLY. Whisper Secrets.

EDIT: hundred percent agreement about Neveah - I don't know if it takes the cake for most horrible but it certainly gets the prize for tackiest.
Reply:I agree with you on Teegan. Makes me think of 'kegels', as in the exercise! I really dislike Rowan and Grier (Brooke Shields' daughters), and the name Nevaeh (Heaven spelled backwards) that a lot of people seem to think is just the coolest thing. Also, one of our babysitter's family members named their son Cash, which just seems really silly to me for a first name.
Reply:I'm not sure I can limit my response to any one name, but anything that is a normal name but is spelled with a bunch of Ks or any variation of an already overdone name such as Brittanni or anything with an apostrophe AND either 2 separate words or a second capital letter such as La Da'rius or something retarded like that.

Oh, and Diamond. And Unique.
Reply:Logan. Ew, it sounds like Loogey. Any of the trampy-white trash names: Makayla, Amberlynn...you get the idea. I hate when people make up the spelling too - to be "unique", it isn't unique - it's stupid! Instead of Sarah they spell it Cerrah. And then they have to explain how it is pronounced.
Reply:Antwon. You know, Antoine's alternate spelling. Ugh!! Apple's pretty bad too. And Querella.

I think that parents should pick a halfway decent name for the helpless fruit of their loins, instead of causing matricide in later years.
Reply:eww... that is a bad one... I think the worst though are when they're named after an inatimate object like Apple or Window... lol I haven't actually heard of Window... but the way people are nameing their kids nowadays I'll give it 2 years
Reply:i once saw a baby named toilatery (toy-laaaa-terry) so many people called her toiletry (as in toilet paper). i feel so bad for her when she grows up
Reply:My aunty just named her new baby girl Lucy Kelly Pamela. Which are all OK names, but together?! They don't even go together.
Reply:Sunday Rose (nicole kidman) sounds to much like Sunday Roast to me- but then again I have talked to alot of people who like it- each to their own!
Reply:well i had a person to name her child as follow

Natalie-comes from the French origin. In French The meaning of the name Natalie is: Born at Christmas.
Reply:Jessica and Natalie are too common..

My name is Jessica and I hate it because it is very popular..

if you use Natalie, spell it uniquly.. like Nataleigh.. and Bree is cute. Try being more unique... if you use Jessica, spell it Jessikah.
Reply:Jessica. This is coming from a guy so i'm gonna say that the name Jessica is kind of a turn on and if you don't want you're daughter (if you have a daughter or are expecting a daughter) dating than i would not name her Jessica. Kinda sounds silly but names do make a difference to some men.

Where have you been...... Hussein seems to all ready been used by allot of the terorist
Reply:I don't think that Barack is going to be much in the baby name market. But to some degree, yes.

No, Miss Shell's though, Miss Shell is already a popular name.

Maybe Sarah though, lot's of Sarah's.

Btw, wonder if that Barack is even going to make into office? By the time the scandals are over, who knows?
Reply:I hope people will use the name Hussein more. It'd show how unimportant bias or prejudice are.

You seem to be very racist. Do you know that there are probably as many "Michael" or "John" that have committed atrocities than "Hussein"??

Reply:Barack probably will be, because it represents a historical figure--first African American president of the United States. And a good guy to boot.
Reply:Barack Hussein Obama already is a very popular name in Muslim Countries, and in the Muslim religion.

And you know what? There's barely a name out there that a kid won't get teased about.... I'm really tired of hearing people say not to name your child this or that based on something like that..... I was teased incessantly for my maiden last name all through school, and you know what? I lived.... I had a friend whose last name was Sharp (that actually got comments), and another friend whose first and middle names are Doris Miriam... no one made a peep about that! Also, a male friend had the last name of Daisey.... or Dennis whom we called Pennis....there's always something so leave that reason out of the equation.
Reply:I think Cashius is awesome and it'll do exactly what you want...it'll influence others to use it and he will agree its a cool name too! He can also go by Cash, which is an awesome name as well! Definitely my vote. None of the others really meet your requirements. Especially Tim Jr. Is that your name or something??? Cuz that's gotta be one of the most popular names out there...not bad, just won't start a trend, like you say you want. I also love Joaquin but even that's starting to catch on. If YOU want to start the trend, you must go with Cashius. I like Peyton as well, but that's becoming a common girl's name now...Cadillac is awful, no offense. Champ and Boss you can call him anyways as a dad :) As far as the rest of them, they are just ok...
Reply:My two favorites are Joaquin and Darius.

Growing up, I knew a guy named Darius, and he was one cool cat. He didn't get teased for his name, that I know of....

Joaquin reminds me of the sexy actor, Joaquin Phoenix, which isn't a bad thing.
Reply:1) Peyton- LOVE IT!!! it's My son's name!! Name of a football player

2) Cashius- Strong name, Cash for short

3) Cadillac- Not big on car names....

4) Tim Jr.- too common for my taste, TJ for short...

5) Xaiden-Like it....

6) Joaquin-sounds kind of girly.

7) Darius- Good Strong name!!

8) Alonzo-Don't realy care for it, just not my taste....

9) Champ-Not really a kids name

10) Boss-Neither is this one
Reply:Darius and Peyton seem to be strong names. Cadillac?!?! Boss and Champ...those are more like nicknames.
Reply:I like Joaquin best!
Reply:He will get teased with every single one of those names except "Tim".

Unless your "baby boy" is really a pet dog - sounds like awful names for a pet also, though.
Reply:Joaquin, always loved that name

My wife wants me to name the baby (or babies) when he/they are born, any ideas?

I am glad she left it up to me to make the main decision, but it's not as easy as I thought. I want to name the girl Moon and the boy Rock, with a solid christian middlename.

What do you think? I'm serious?

My wife wants me to name the baby (or babies) when he/they are born, any ideas?
Hildergard%26gt;Girl

Wolfgang%26gt;Boy
Reply:Although different names can sound cute to babies and small children, think of what they will have to deal with when they are older and applying for a job. Do you think someone will want to hire a moon or a rock? It is a big responsibility. But if you do go it those names, make sure you give them the option of changing it when they are older if they want.
Reply:I like Rock :) One name I really like is Rocket (with a NN of Rock/Rocky/Rocko), although I don't think I'd have the nerve to use it.

Don't really like Moon... I have the feeling kids would pull their pants down to "moon" her. I do like the meaning, and LOVE nature names though...

here's some nature names that I like for girls:

Ember, Echo, Journey, Breeze, Ocean, Raine
Reply:hmm i dunno about moon and rock. sorry it just sounds so...not right. your desicion. but if your going for nature names i have a friend who's sisters name is bayley and we all call her "bay" and my friends name is river. i think those names are very pretty. or as people have been saying luna and peter or luna and stone. my friends family all has nature names like bay, river, stonefell (we call him stone), and seala
Reply:Put them together; Moonrock.

I personally don't like those names...a boy named that could work that is a bit like rock is Canyon. But I honestly prefer nice, somewhat traditional names. I only agree with the Christian Middlename part.

Yup , and Peter and Luna sound good .
Reply:I think that sounds stupid. Except the Christian middle name part of it.

Moon and Rock... come on!

I hope you let her know before it happens so she can take back that whole letting you name them decision.

Maybe use moon and rock as nicknames and give them actual names.
Reply:An alternative to Moon and Rock--

Instead of Moon, try Luna

Instead of Rock, try Peter (it means Rock)

I really like the name Luna, and I think it sounds more creative than Moon.
Reply:If you like it sure. Just dont be upset when they are older and getting picked on.

But then again who am I, I like the name Lucius for a boy.

If you like it... go for it.
Reply:You're seriously serious? Moon and rock? No. How about:

Luna

Peter (which MEANS rock)

Good luck:)
Reply:wait till they are born, god will put the name into your mouth. when my son was born he didnt' have a name untill two days after, it just came to me while i was sleeping. You will know his/her/their name/names when the time comes
Reply:wow well Stormy Star Aurora Dawn Misty Haze Flint all name in the same nature category as Moon and Rock please be kind to your children and Don't name them Moon and Rock. Children are mean %26amp; they will be really mean to Moon %26amp; Rock
Reply:Yumi-girl Ulrich-boy
Reply:not bad...don't know so much bout moon though...i like Rock though it's like original yet differnt...i dunno...
Reply:That's awful, these kids are gonna get made fun of so much when they go to school!
Reply:Are you joking? That's awful.

I hope your wife beats you.
Reply:yeah russian names are the best

Do you have good taste in baby names? Which name do you prefer?

I originally like Lauren Isabella, but the hubby complained that that both the names were too common, which is true. We decided to keep Isabella.

Which do you like?

Brooklyn Isabella

or

Isabella Jane

?

Do you have good taste in baby names? Which name do you prefer?
Brooklyn Isabella is very cute. Using Isabella for a first name is also very cute but I don't like Jane at all. Too plain and also very common. Isabella is such a beautiful feminine name and needs something cuter with it.
Reply:I hate the name Isabella to be truthfull. Its not that I am not good in taste with names, but ever since the Twylight books or whatever (I am thank god not one of the addicts) Isabelle and Isabella have been becoming more poplular. Lauren is pretty though.

Try:

Ava Grace

Lainey Christine

Madison Danielle

Sabrina Lauren

Kaitlyn Jane
Reply:I do have good taste in baby names!

I think Lauren Isabella is actually really really pretty.

Brooklyn Isabella - err, no. I hate Brooklyn, it's a place, not a name. I just don't care for it very much.

Isabella Jane - this is just flat out gorgeous! I love it.

Suggestions:

Isabella Grace

Isabella Hope
Reply:What?! You kept Isabella over Lauren?! Lauren is WAY less popular than Isabella, especially nowadays. :)

My personal fave up there is Brooklyn Isabella. I really liked the sound of Lauren Isabella, but Brooklyn is such a beautiful name! Congratulations, and good luck!
Reply:I like Isabella Jane. It flows better. Also PLEASE consider her initials. In grade school the teachers usually have the kids to put the initials on everything. Make sure it's not something the other children will make fun of.
Reply:Isabella Jane.

I love the name Isabella for a little girl.

It can really grow with her Issy/Izzy/Ella or Bella or all cute for when she is younger and Isabella is beautiful and sophisticated for when she is older,
Reply:Lauren Isabelle..sounds better.

i honesty love Rose as a middle

Lauren Rose, Brooklynn Rose, Isabella Rose..sounds good with anyname and its timeless and beautiful.
Reply:Isabella Jane sounds really sweet... though if my partner rejected my idea for Lauren I'd try and go for something similar like Laurel ( either pronounced like Lauren but with an L or Laur-elle)

But Isabella Jane is really cute
Reply:Isabella Jane

Brooklyn doesn't go with Isabella because one is classic and beautiful and the other is modern and trendy.
Reply:Isabella Jane, so beautiful.

If you have a problem with Isabella being too commong, I would suggest Isabelle Jane or Isabelle Brooke
Reply:I really like the name isabella, i think bella is a cute nickname too! im not to crazy about the middle name Jane though. i think that it is kinda plane.
Reply:isabella jane is such a pretty name for a girl i dont rele care for brooklyn but i like lauren isabella better than both hope i helped!
Reply:isabella brooklyn

or brook isabella
Reply:How about something similar to Lauren?

Lorelei

Lorraine

Laurene

Lorraina

Laura

Laurena

Laurel

Isabella is SO cute =)
Reply:Isabella Jane sounds prettier but I really like Brooklyn for a first names, its just that Brooklyn Isabella doesn't have a nice ring to it.
Reply:Isabella Jane

I also think Isabella Jade is nice for something similar but a little less common.
Reply:Isabella Jane is my favorite... Brooklyn Isabella just doesn't flow well for me. Good luck!
Reply:i don't think Brooklyn and Isabella go together at all. Isabella Jane is lovely but yeah a bit plain. Lauren isabella is the best out of your options
Reply:Brooklyn Isabella

brooklyn is my little daughters name

:)
Reply:lauren is very cute

but out of the ones u chose i like Isabella Jane.

very cute.
Reply:I love Isabella Jane-it rolls off the tongue smoother than Brooklyn Isabella.
Reply:Brooklyn Isabella.

The people who answer baby name questions?

I was just wondering how old are you or what grade are you in? I just thought it would be a good idea to know the age group of the opinions we're getting.

The people who answer baby name questions?
I'm 30. I'm not in a grade. I have an almost two year old son.

There's really no way to verify this, though - and a lot of younger girls lie about their ages all the time. They have entire fantasy lives consisting of husbands, multiple children, twins, triplets, etc. You can tell who's lying though, when you look at the other questions they answer: usually it's about crushes and hair-dos.

:)

good question i starred it*

Another: Yes there are people who lie but there are also people who tell the truth. Don't judge people, are you perfect? absolutely not, no one is. so why make a comment about liars?

so don't bash people who are actually telling the truth, its degradding, inappropriate and pathetic

Is it true that babies born in Viet Nam must now have a Vietnamese name?

My newborn is Vietnamese/American. My wife and I were just informed by the government that our daughter MUST HAVE a Vietnamese "given" (last) name.

Is this a new law or some lame attempt at a shakedown. If it's a shakedown, what is the appropriate amount of bribe money to be able to name my own daughter after my late mother.

BTW; our 18 month old son has an American name.

Is it true that babies born in Viet Nam must now have a Vietnamese name?
When you said "government", was it the district authority office? Ask the one who said so to prove to you. They must have a copy of notification / order and that copy must be up on the notice board for everyone to read.

Check with your embassy in Hanoi or your Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City. Check with So Tu Phap, So Ngoai Vu or whatever. They should know better in my opinion.

Find the law books in bookshops. They should mention it there if there is such a law.
Reply:Wow never heard that one before , could it be extended family influence ? is it official government notification ? . Have a word with an ex-pat that has been there forever he can try to make inquiries on the quiet (i always found the Aussies to be well in the know). But as you know privacy is difficult to obtain in Vietnam as everybody seems to know everything that is going on . It sound's easy to say ask the embassy but i don't think you want to look argumentative.

Have had a few shakedowns and they don't cost a lot but then you are opening a door . A funny one i had cost me a crate of "Heineken" not "Tiger" but that was only the Police . Life is always interesting there . Best of Luck
Reply:for someone like myself who treasures freedom to a fault this is quite disturbing..i would have no problem with giving my child[ if i had one] a viet name .. UNTIL i am told i must.. i really dont know the facts here but it does seem too regressive in such progressive vn times too be true .sounds like an attempt at a bride.. you would know best about that being in contact with that sort of thing there.. the economy is bad they might need the $$'s..to name your child after you mother is priceless but it would dishonor her pay a bribe to do so.. now that i say that i'm thinking that if it is law[ to name your child american], you couldnt get away with it even with a bribe . anyway i know vietnamese living in viet nam [ nha trang] who have named all their children with western 1st [given] names.. geeze rick ask the police chief to be your daughters godfather this way he has to give her a gift...
Reply:Never heard that before ^^
