What happens when a couple can't agree on a babies name?

Sorry Mike,I think Mom rules here, she did carry.

What happens when a couple can't agree on a babies name?
My husband and I could not agree on a name for our daughter. In the end, we named her formally the name I liked, and the name he liked became her nickname. Now as an adult, she gives her formal name to some and her nickname to others. Her choice.
Reply:Flip a coin!
Reply:Its all about compromise! There are always going to be things (names or otherwise) that you will agree to disagree on, why should baby names be any different? You will find a name that will pop out at you, and I am sure you and yours will love it.
Reply:choose straws!
Reply:I'm sure they choose a name they both like for the first one, then maybe take the two they've been disagreeing over and the child will have two middle names.

Or, that's what happened to one of my friends. The parents both thought one name was pretty, but both wanted another name. So, the one they thought was pretty is her first name and the other two are her middle name.
Reply:For my third child I could not find a name to please my spouse at all! I used tons of baby name books, had lists with names crossed off, went online to make more lists. Then finally found one I really loved and he finally agreed! It can take a while keep in mind this name will be with your child for the rest of their lives.
Reply:I wanted my wife to name our son Ozzy Lee but she is the one that had to go through the pain and complications so she named him Julian which i love now but i did get mad at first cause she said if it was a boy i could name him and if it was a girl she would name her but it dosen't go that way.

women are the ones that have to go through the pain of having a baby and really they should get to name the child but atleast i got to put in one middle name (he has 2)

That is just how it is
Reply:Got to go with redhed on this one. That's the way it worked in these parts.
Reply:Shout for joy!
Reply:You could always ask a family member to help out or look at different baby name books. Children are always good baby namers! Listen to the radio or watch movies...interesting names are always there!
Reply:then put the best names in a hat and draw. make sure that whichever name that gets drawn is the one. only put serious names in the hat. good luck. and if that don't help then mom gets the final say.
Reply:We agreed he could choose the middle name for a girl or the first name if it was a boy...personally I would not have agreed if I was going to go through it again, but it worked at the time! Good Luck...
