Gabriella sounds beautiful with that last name.
My sister is having a baby. Her last name is Torrini. What are some baby names that would sound good?

Remember when you pronounce the name the accent is on the "do".
and the best part is that she gets to have 38 middle names!

What time in your life should youmake up your babies names?
Like pre-teen or when your an adult like whne you are anout to have a baby?
What time in your life should youmake up your babies names?
when you have given birth
you can think of different names whenever you want but you should not pick one until you see the baby's face
Reply:I would suggest coming up with ideas on names while you're pregnant. Then once your child is born, you can pick the name that suits the child's personality.
Reply:When you are pregnant would be the best time.
Reply:when ever u want.. i had names picked out when i was like 12 but i did not even name my kids those names.... ur mind may change
Reply:I always have names for future babies since I was a teenager. But to actualy chose for one, I waited till I'm 6th month pregnant and know the gender of my baby.
Reply:i had a few names picked out before i got pregnant. but we ended up choosing different names.. you should think about babies names while you are pregnant and with the father of the child. so you both have a say and a decision in the names.
Reply:WHen the baby is inside you (or your partner's), you will get to know it... the fetus actually has personality.
I don't think it is fair to name a baby before it's even "a glint in it's father's eye"
Reply:definitely before it's born a little embarrassing to not have named your kid prior to birth I would say! "oh he's/she's so cute whats his/her name" your answer He/she has 'no name'
Reply:I usually start naming a baby while I'm pregnant with that baby. But, my last son was to be Zachary and when he was born I changed my mind and named him Jayden...it suites him. Best wishes
Reply:Well, I'm not even close to having kids but I DO have an idea about the names.
It's not really something that's important to think about until you are married and you and your spouse are thinking about kids.
Reply:When you are thinking about getting married you should problebly be begginning to think about it.
Reply:When the baby is born you'll know what name to give him or her, I've been thinking about baby names for years, I've got a few in mind, but if when he or she is born, he or she doesn't seem to suit any of the names, then I'll have to think of one that does suit.
Reply:Well, I think it would probably be good to wait until you are pregnant, so that you and your partner can share in naming the baby.
Reply:I agree with the first answer ...partner can share in naming...
Also, it's a good idea to wait until you're ready to have a baby because there is a tendency for new names to become popular fairly often. Maybe you'll want a unique name--in that case it's a good idea to wait too--to make sure it's not already taken. :)
Reply:after you are definitely pregnant. or even after the child is born.
Reply:I had my childrens names picked out when I was 12.
Reply:I think that if it's on your mind why not make a list. What's the harm in that? Coming up with baby names is fun for me. I picked out my little sister's middle name and it's a source of pride for me. Doesn't matter how old you are or if you're pregnant or not. Although it does help to know what the last name is going to be. Your spouse may or may not agree with you, but usually you can find something that you both like. You just may have a head start in that department.
Reply:when you have a baby
Reply:I think when you're about to have the baby. If you pick out baby names when you're 13 or 14 years old, by the time you have children, you might be totally against the names, saying to yourself, "Why did I ever like THAT name? Sounds like a stripper!" LOL
Reply:Never. the world is over populated.
Reply:I had names picked out for babies when i was in high school and now that i'm married my husband didn't like any of them! And my tastes have changed too! Do that whenever you feel like it! Its fun! But don't be dead set on them, you may change your mind!
Reply:I named two of my kids while I was pregnant, but with the last one, we just couldnt think of names to go with Paul as a second name.... so we called him Paul, then when he was born.. we looked at him and said he doesn't look like a Paul, so we called him Joshua Paul... perfect.
Reply:I would say that one should not think about baby names until one actually has a baby coming.
Reply:when the time comes you will know.
Reply:I named mine when I was 20 wks pregnant. I had names I had always like, but my husband didn't. So we had to compromise.

What celebrity baby name do you think is actually cute?
Sometimes celebrities do have good naming taste. But others don't and it's so unfortunate for the child!
1. Name one celeb baby name you like.
2. Name one celeb baby name you think is absolutely hideous.

Reply:1) Liv Tyler named her son Milo, I like that name a lot.

For a little girl. Don't have to use all the letters and you can use other letters of the alphabet. Please don't just change one letter, change a few so it's totally new. Thanks!

I just read an article of a couple in New Zealand who were trying to get the government to let them name their baby "4Real" Are the parents for real?
Do you know of any ridiculous names that parents have actually named their children?
Looking for the best answer, too.

**I have either read or met someone named each of these. It is my opinion that a lot of them are stupid and will cause the child/person in question a lot of grief and trouble as they age unless their greatest ambition is to dance on a pole.
Also, numerous studies have confirmed that sticking to ordinary names spelled Correctly helps the child attain a better education and job prospects when they become adults. Spelling a typical name in a "creative" or "exotic" way does not make YOU appear to be creative or even remotely intelligent. All it does point out is that you probably shouldn't have had children in the first place if you were going to inflict such momentous torture upon them from the moment of their birth until they either have their name changed, move into a trailer park, or start working in a sector of the adult industry.
Anyway. Just my two cents. And I am extremely sorry if your parents inflicted any of these names, or similar, upon you.
Peace,
Jenn

What's the name of the photographer who took the photograph during the vietnm war for the 'and babies' poster?
also. who then went on to design the poster and release it in the usa as one of the posters that helped begin anti-war campaigns and call the soldiers back from vietnam.
What's the name of the photographer who took the photograph during the vietnm war for the 'and babies' poster?
Ronald Haeberle
I believe the man should be commended for his work, for having the courage it takes to put your self in the position that attracts slanderous people to attack you for being "traitorous"
....please be advised that the photos in this link are graphic in nature ...but that is what it takes to get the message across to the people who support war-mongers.

What was the last name you removed from your baby name list?
And what made you change your mind about it?
I took Valleaux off my boy's list because I decided it was too fancy and I couldn't really find a good first name to go with it.
And from my girl's list, Eden. I used to think it was really pretty but now I think it sounds quite masculine. The other day someone suggested it as a boy name.
What was the last name you removed from your baby name list?
The last one we took off was Devon. I really like it, but I'm just not loving it enough to keep it up there. The last girl name removed, though, was Kaitlyn. It's cute, but it's just too modern and cutesy for my taste.
Reply:I just took Marta off of my girls list. I just kept rolling it around on my tongue and it never seemed to feel quite right when I'd use it in a sentence. I love the sound of it though. I got it from The Sound Of Music.
I just took Stellan off of my boys list because my unlikable mother in law is named Stella and I don't want her thinking I named any of my children after her.
Coincidentally Eden is our top pick for a future daughter's name. I've never heard it used for a boy but even so it's the only one my husband and I can agree on very well at the moment and I love it.
Reply:Eden is a girls name ether way.Any ways I believe the last name I took off the list was Kevin Al.It was suggested by a friend of mine.
I am not having a baby. But we wanted to be prepared.
Reply:The last name I removed from my baby name list was "Katie", simply because my brother's fiancee is expecting a baby and really loves the name Katie.
I've added loads of new ones on in it's place though :D
Reply:Lauren was my latest name removed. I love it for a girl. But the hub didn't care much for it. And since it's OUR baby, we both have to love the name we choose boy or girl.
Reply:We had it set to name our son Jacob. It wasn't until we were filling out the birth certificate that we changed it to Wyatt. He just looked to rugged to be a Jacob. But, I still like the name.
Reply:We didn't have to make a list. Since I was having twins (born three days ago, girls) he chose a name and I chose a name. I chose Skylar Ann ad he chose Haylee Marie.
Reply:my husband and i never had to do a list. we agreed on both sexs names right away.. and have had lucas allen picked out since i was 6 weeks pregnant.
Reply:Boy List: We took off Julius- Just thought it sounded to feminine!
Girls List: Esme- Growing too popular.
Reply:I took Axel off. Since he'll come from a family of figure skaters, that's just too weird.
Reply:Thought about naming a boy Dillon but then we decided that the name sounded too young.
Reply:Charlotte and Christine were two of the three finalists on our name list, and we didn't use them.
Reply:I took Tessa off of my list because I like Tilly a lot more =)
Reply:We just took Riley off our names list...just because it's becoming much too popular

What is the craziest baby name you have encountered?
I was reading the paper at work a couple months ago and I saw one that I thought took the cake.
Corazon de Jesus (this was all just the first name) III. Parents were Corazon de Jesus Jr and Maria de Jesus (these again were just first names). It seemed a bit odd that the mother's first name was so similar when I doubt she was related to her husband's family other than by marriage. I understand that Hispanic families are traditionally Catholic but I had never seen anything like that before.

Reply:Yes, names like that are fairly common within Hispanic Catholic communities. And really, Corazon and Jesus aren't unusual choices in the least -- though I agree the whole "heart of Jesus" and "Mary of Jesus" phrase names are quite an interesting coincidence. ;) Is it possible the paper may have simply mixed up the name order, and perhaps "de Jesus" was supposed to be part of the surname (very common, in that case)?

I know it has something to do with "import external data", but I am not quite sure how to do this. Can anyone help? Thanks.
How do you enter the social security baby name list into excel?
I haven't used Excel in awhile, but I know the book explained it really well. Couple of links for you below.
I actually did import this list once by pasting it into a .txt file. Then you can import it using the Wizard. However, I think they now have it in .pdf and I think you need to export the .pdf as txt first and then import the new .txt file.

Which is a better idea- to discuss baby name choices with family and friends or to keep them a secret?
What are your opinions and experiences? What do you think?
What is most common nowadays? Has sharing or not sharing names changed over time or remained the same? How so?
Which is a better idea- to discuss baby name choices with family and friends or to keep them a secret?
Well, you see how people react to some name choices on here. Depending on who you share with you could experience that same type of critisism in person. Or if you know someone else who's expecting they could steal your ideas. So it really depends on who you're sharing with and whether or not you're prepared to deal with those types of situations.
Reply:Many families want their name passed to grandchildren. If you want your child's name to be totally original (or not end up with a name like Gertrude) keep it secret. However, your family may have some beautiful names that they wish to pass to the next generation. It all depends on your relationship with your family and how you expect them to react if you don't pick their name!
As for friends-- their input can be helpful in determining what NOT to name your baby. Friends may want you to pass their name on to your child, which can be a BAD idea!
In either instance, be prepared for criticism, but don't take it the wrong way. All of their input will help you decide on the best choice.
Reply:if you discuss with your family and friends be ready for the suggestions and criticism. i personally would wait until you think you have chosen a name and or very serious about it. than discuss it with them, that way your not having to hear about everyone elses opinion.
Reply:Keep it a secret. Otherwise, they'll comment negatively and you'll end up changing the name at the last minute to serve their wishes.
I told 2 people ahead of time. My sister gasped when I told her the name. That's BEAUTIFUL!! she said.
TX Mom
Reply:depends on what you want. some people get ideas from other people, some share with family and get their opinions, some people keep it to themselves because they don't want to know anyone elses opinion, want to keep it a suprise.
Reply:i think sharing is a great idea!! i am constantly asking my mom and my fiance's parents about names ive come up with. i believe its just how well you get along w/ your family and how their judgment effects you.
Reply:keep them a secret... everyone will always have an opinion, I mean if you really like the names... just surprise everyone after the baby is named :)
Reply:Secret. We shared with the first child. Let me tell you, people are rude. We kept it a secret the second time. Much less irritating.

A few actual K names that aren't yet overused might include:

Kilian (German form of Cillian)

I put the language of origin when it might be assumed a "random K for a C" (as with Kilian vs. Cillian), but I assure you, all are proper spellings in their authentic forms. Kalliope, for example, is the original form, and Calliope the familiar variant. :) You can find further information on most here: http://www.behindthename.com/

Literally dreaming up your babies name?
I dont particularly like the name nor dislike it..
anyone else dreampt their unborn childs name?
it was either mia or leah but in the dream I think I made it up to someone and it wasnt really their name haha
Literally dreaming up your babies name?
I dreamed before I was pregnant of a girl named Kelani, I am not hawaiian but I have been a hula dancer since I was 3. My daughters nickname is Ku'u ipo so I thought it was a sign my next daughters nickname would be that. Then I found out I was having a boy LOL. I think in cases like this its just a dream.

What is the worst baby name you have ever heard?
I am asking because I have heard a few horrible ones like Americus(oh my god) and Brecca and I am curious as to what other people have heard.

Reply:I can't stand the name Bethany! I just think it sounds ugly. I also hate when parents try to be "original" with the spelling of a perfectly good name! (like Bayleigh, Stefanee (i know a girl with this name) etc.) I also can't stand "Naveah!" How do you even pronounce that? Who cares if it's Heaven spelled backwards? Isn't the opposite of heaven hell? I also have a best friend and her name is Keitherine. It's a combination of her father's name Keith and her mother's name Catherine.

80s cartoon with genius babies who discover they exist in a persons dream. do u remember the name of it?
The babies were in hover machines and the professors were answering directly to them as they were the world's intelligence. They discover through a machine that they exist only in a person's dream in the real world and travel to the real world to steal the alarm clock before their existence runs out. They succeed in stealing the clock and therefore celebrate their continued existence. The name Raja rings a bell but I can't find it anywhere on the net. Any help?

What is the actual name of the person who does ultrasound of the babies in the womb?
The correct terms are ultrasound technologist (not technician, although I hear those not in the field refer to us as that), ultrasonographer or sonographer.
Many of us are also radiologic technologists (technician is an older and inaccurate term), but that is a totally separate licence we hold. These licenses are totally different and separate.

What do you think of Jamie Lynn SPEARS babies name?
It's Maddie Briann Spears
I think it's cute!
If you don't care then don't answer! But, obviously you care because you clicked on this question!
What do you think of Jamie Lynn SPEARS babies name?
I think its pretty cute but i dont like the Briann part very much
Reply:I think it sounds like a typical teenager giving their child a "cool" name. I would never name my child Maddie Briann.....
I could see the name Madison and calling her Maddie.
Reply:I think either Madelyn or Madison would have been nicer than Maddie. I don't like Briann at all. But, if she's happy with it, then that's all that matters.
Reply:My friend Daughter Is Maddie but usually its short for Madison
I would go with Madison Breanna Spears.

How come different baby name websites give different origins and meanings?
How can I find the true meaning and origin? How do I know what I'm looking at isn't just made up?
How come different baby name websites give different origins and meanings?
I think checking a lot of sites tend to be the best bet. I adore behindthename.com as they seem to have very accurate information. I always check a couple of different names to see what they say as a litmus test:
Vanessa -it doesn't mean 'butterfly'. Jonathan Swift invented the name, and it was later used to name a species of butterfly. If you find a website that shows just 'butterfly' without the backstory, the research is probably very perfunctory.
Oscar -it's an Irish name from os: deer and cara: love. James MacPherson used it for a character. Napoleon was a fan, and got his godson's parents to give the name to their son, who became Oscar of Sweden. Some people list Oscar as coming from the Norse elements os: god and gar: spear to "divine spear."
Olivia -Shakespeare made it up as a feminine of Oliver. Some books list it as meaning 'peaceful woman', some sort of elaboration off of the olive branch of peace. In reality, Oliver comes from the Norse Olafr, and has nothing to do with olives.
Reply:Because most traditional names have meanings that are lost in time, and most modern names don't mean anything.
Most of what you are looking at is made up. Seriously, try the Kabalarian site. You can type any word at all in there and it will tell you what its "meaning" as a baby name is. Yeah, right.
Reply:Poor research or ambiguous/obscure/uncertain origins, I suppose.
http://www.behindthename.com seems pretty accurate, or so people have said on here. That's the site I go to first to look up a meaning and pronunciation.

Early days yet - good luck with the pregnancy and hope all goes smoothly for you.
We came up with my son's name in my first pregnancy (he's the youngest ha ha!), but were still trying to make a shortlist for girl's names when my daughter was born. I think we figured her name out when she was about 3 days old. That's ok too!

What is the name for a nurse that takes care of babies right after they are born? (not premature babies)?
How many years of schooling does it take to become this kind of nurse?
What type of schooling is required?
What is the name for a nurse that takes care of babies right after they are born? (not premature babies)?
Both RNs and LPNs/LVNs can be nursery nurses, which is what you call nurses who take care of newborns.
It takes about 12-18 months to finish an LPN/LVN program, and 2-4 years for an RN program (depends on whether you chose an associate degree or bachelors degree program). Programs are offered at most community colleges as well as four year colleges and universities.
Once you have finished your nursing program you will still need some nursery training in the hospital where you work.
Reply:I am an OB RN which is obstetrics. It is also called mom/baby, postpartum... I take care of the new moms and their babies about 1 hour after birth until they go home. It is A LOT of work but worth it if thats what you want to do. I went for my BSN for 4 years but you can get an associates degree in 2 years. They usually want you to have experience before you can get a job in OB. Also I would become a CNA so you can see if nursing is what you really like.

What is the name of the fish that has her babies hide in her mouth?
I saw this fish at the aquarium place and i don't remember the name of it. This fish had lots of little babies and when she gave a signal all the babies would go into her mouth fast and then they come out later fast.
What is the name of the fish that has her babies hide in her mouth?
There are many fish that mouthbrood. The ones that would be encountered at a pet store make it likely that this was a species of cichlid.
Reply:any mouthbrooding cichlids could do that. Usually African Cichlids like Mbuna do that .
Reply:it is the harper fish i seen it to

Can anybody tell me the name of the tree that grows fruit that looks like babies?
Is this what your looking for? Kiwi fruit.
According to the guy that sold me this Kiwi fruit at the farmers market, many people say this type looks like a fetus. I think of it as a symbol of the needs of our descendants, seven generations down the road.

I want to change the last name on my babies birth certificate?
I want to change my babys last name how do i go along doing it
I want to change the last name on my babies birth certificate?
I'm in UK and split with my son's father when he was 6 months old (we were not married). I wanted to change my son's surname back to my maiden name and made an appointment to see a solicitor. I couldn't change the birth certificate and had to do a Change of Name Deed. I didn't pay anything at that time as I was receiving income support and it was quite a few years ago.I do know that if you are married or even divorced, you do have to have the father's consent. Hope this helps.
Reply:If the child is under 2 months you can just ask for a new birth certificate with a new last name. (might need to visit the hospital, or some sort of center to get your ID check and so on, so they are sure its YOUR child)
Usually the office will be in the capital of that city, might have some branchs but most of the time they don't.
If the child is older (past 2 months) you might need to go to court and ask for a motions. To have the childs named changes. The judge will of course grant the motions and you'll receive a form, stating the childs new name, then you can either visit the office of certification and present the form, or send it in (or fax)
Now if your married (and not formally divorced) you might not be able to do that all too easily. Also the father maybe asked to be present even if not married (They have to see if he objects to change of the childs name)
I guess its horrible to state it like this but; If you don't know the father or don't want the father to know, or he doesn't care you might be able to get by with it (Or they'll ask you to find the father just to make sure he doesn't have any objections, because losing the childs last name is reliving the father of any responsibility). But if the father pays child support, and so on... Thats almost not possible...Unless you want to stop child support. And so on...
Good luck.
Reply:It depends. You have a certain amount of time to edit the birth certificate after it is submitted, Depending on how old the baby is. If the father submits an affidavit of paternity you may get it changed for free at that point. If you want to change it any other way you will have to do it through the legal system.
Reply:Petition the Probate Court. Call the Clerk of Court and ask what you need to do.
Reply:Legally, through the courts.
Reply:See a lawyer.

Stuffed toy dog that has babies in its tummy? What was its name?
When I was little I had these stuffed toy dogs that had a velcro tummy. When you opened the velcro it had little puppies in it (filled with beans I think). Each dog was different in that it had different sexes of puppies, a different number of pups in its litter, and the puppies were different colors. What was this toy called? It was probably in the 1990's.

Reply:That was called "Puppy Surprise." It contained either three, four, or (very rarely) five puppies.

Mother or babies name on monogrammed diaper bag?
which name do you put on the diaper bag im totally confused about this? thanks
Mother or babies name on monogrammed diaper bag?
Whichever one you want! I'm not sure there's really a rule. I would put the child's name/initials. This way, if the child is ever at a play date or child care, its quick to see which diaper bag is his. When you go to get it done or to pick up the supplies, you could always ask the sales associate what other people do the most. Good luck.
Reply:Babies
Reply:babies :- )
Reply:depends if you wanna use it for multiple babies... use the last name. But if it is just for one baby, do the baby's name, not mom's...
Reply:Babies! It's their diapers in the bag....
Reply:Put your baby's name since it is for them, and it would be something cool for them to have when they go to have kids. If it's a boy it would be cool to just have a last name then it could carry down for generations!
Reply:I just put our last name initial on ours
Reply:the babies, but i would suggest their initials instead that way strangers won't know your babies name
