Im doing a project and that is what Im interested in doing

What is the name of the nurses that work with the newborn babies?
neonatal is an adjective smth or smb connected with a child that has just been born. (neo - new, natal - to be born) so, the answer is neonatal nurse.
Reply:Neonatal nurses specialise in the care of newborn infants with various problems in specialised units. In the UK these are called Neonatal units or S.C.B.U ( special care baby unit) these can range from respiratory care to neurological problems.

p,s Contrary to some answer you have been given they ARE NOT Midwives !!

p.p.s.Obs/Gynae nurse DO NOT look after Babies !!

Reply:Neonatal Nurses a fantastic rewarding job and more are needed.
Reply:neonatal nurse is a nurse that just cares for babies in the nursery and NICU
Reply:If you're in the UK, it's midwives. From the responses so far I would imagine in the US it's neonatal nurses.

Reply:you mean a midwife, my grand-aunt had that job
Reply:Its a MIDWIFE that cares for the pregnant lady and delivers the baby, and HEALTH VISITOR that takes over from her. A NEONATAL nurse looks after the ill babies on SCBU (Special Care Baby Unit) good luck with your research.
Reply:neonatal nurse look after newborns, and in SCBU/ ICU

Reply:Obstetrics and Gynecology, or also known as OB/GYN nurses

Peace Luck Love Life.
Reply:Neonate nurse.

It's also neonate nurse in UK. Midwives deliver and help (teach) mom to look after baby if healthy. But by 'work' you mean like looking after them with specialist skills, then it's neonate or neonatal nurses. Then there are the specialist pre-term neonate nurses who have even more specialist training. Most healthy newborns only need feeding and pooping - barely any specialist training needed.
