Ok, everyone looks at me weird when I tell them my babies name. Is it too weird?

I live in a small town and I guess my sons name is different to some people but I never thought so. His name is Leyton and I get funny looks when i tell people and when people read it they say Leeton. Did I make a bad decision, please be honest. My husband and I both loved the name. PLEASE BE HONEST, i really want to know what people think of the name.

Ok, everyone looks at me weird when I tell them my babies name. Is it too weird?
Your childs name is unique because his mother have an unique soul. Thats you. Giving him a name so he doesn't blend in with the rest of the world will make him a special person. Giving him a name that is so common mean he will live up to that name. Giving him a name that isn't well know like the name anthony, means he is making a new definiton for that name. So people will stop whatever they are doing so they can snicker about your child name, you can say at least my son doesn't blend in with the rest of the town. Your child stands out and will make a great impact. To me, that sounds like an artist name of inspiration and heart.
Reply:I like it. But im the type of person who loves odd and unique names. Dont worry what people think, as long as you and your husband is happy then thats all the matters. People will say his name wrong and you will get used to it. People always say mine and my sisters wrong.
Reply:I have never heard that name before. It is a little weird, but at least it is different.
Reply:I really like your sons name. He will be able to stand out and won't easily be forgotten. Don't worry what other people think, your family is the only ones who have to live with it, so if you love then the heck with what others think.
Reply:Don't listen to them they are ignorant i honestly like it...
Reply:I like it. My daughter has a boy in her preschool named Layton. To be honest... Leyton's name would have me wonder if it was pronounced Leeton or Layton. Still, I like it.
Reply:hun you take no notice of these people, leyton is a beautiful name for a boy. my niece has the same problem her two sons are called levi %26amp; kye. i think unusual names are great, and more and more people are useing them now. your sons name is unique, you choose it be proud of it hun.
Reply:I guess the name is different, but I kind of like it! my name is kim, and i wish my name were kimothy, so i guess it's ok to name a child a name that's different!
Reply:if you and your husband love it then who cares what anyone else thinks
Reply:I love it! Absolutely perfect for a boy! When I first read the name, I pronounced it right, but I lived near a town called Layton.....

My name is Heidi and I have people mispronounce my name all the time! LOL
Reply:In my opinion its a butt ugly name.
Reply:i live in a smaller town in Kansas and i know a child names leyton. who cares what other people think. if you and your hubby like it, that is all that matters.
Reply:As long as you and your husband think it is a great name then it does not matter what other people think. I think it is a great name. I may just try to concince my hubby that we should steal it.

Don't worry about it.
Reply:that is a lovely name. Why should you care what people think have you heard Brad Pitt's baby Suri i mean come on!! Leyton is normal and lovely and my aunt has a baby apple so i have a cousin apple and matt soo compared to Suri and Leyton Leyton is a lovely name and the next time someone looks at you funny when you tell them that say hey i do not care what you think leyton is a wonderful name!!!
Reply:not really
Reply:i like the name Layton. those that look at you funny are probably

traditionalist who think you should have named the child Bob or

Frank. my grandson's name is Mason Alexander and we get the

same strange looks as you get. just ignore them.
Reply:I like it a lot, just go with what you want, it is noboy elses business and nobody else has too approve, you probably just live in a little redneck town and shouldn't worry about them too much
Reply:I think that its a great name!!! I like it when people come up with something original.... it results in people never forgetting the name cause its so unique. I do know what you mean though.... I have an 18 month old son named Darius. You and your husband didn't make a bad choice/decision. The world any more is just to critical and if people can only sit around and make fun of people then they can go F*** off and get a life!!!
Reply:I like it! You must live in a hick town if they're pronouncing it Leeton. I think it's cute.
Reply:I think that it is a nice name. To some people the spelling would suggest that it is pronounced leeton. Just tell them that right way to say it. I ts unique being unique is what makes people stand out.
Reply:I went to school with a Layton. (He is 27) He was popular and very out going. There is nothing wrong with the name. You and your husband named him that name, why does it matter what people think? If we all told you that we hated the name, what would you do? To tell you the truth, I don't know why you would even ask that type of question. Be happy for the name. People look at you weird, smile. If they call him Leeton, correct them. Stand up for the boy of yours. I think the name is great. And the kid will be very out going and likes in school. :)
Reply:I love the name Leyton but to be honest I know of a little girl

by that name at church so maybe that is why they look at you

weird. My past pastors sons name is Brayden I thought it was a little different but I like it to. Don't worry what others think he is your child like and as long as he knows he has caring parents that love him and his name he will be happy to like I said I love the name honestly.
Reply:I personally like the name I think it is a very unique and different name and I think you and your husband did a good job picking it out
