Usually they are cared for by a registered nurse....however most hospitals now having rooming in with the mothers so they do not go to the nursery unless mom needs a break or there is something wrong.
Reply:Neonatal nurse. It is a specialized form of an R.N., Registered Nurse. There are also nurses that specialize in caring for babies that are very sick, in Neonatal ICU. (in the U.S.)

The Nursing Director (or usually, the Director of Nursing) is the nurse or administrator in charge of the entire staff of R.N.s at the hospital. It has nothing to do with the nursery where babies are kept.
Reply:I think it is called a Nursing Director, but you can google it and find out for sure and get all the information about it. Hope this helps. :)
