My son is 9 months old and doesn't seem to know his name yet. All his other development is on track. He is a very happy baby. I'm just alittle worried that he doesn't know his name yet.
How old are babies when they learn there name?
My daughter started to respond to her name around 6/7 months, we would always use her name in everything we were doing with her. He'll catch on, just keep addressing your son with his name, with every action you are doing with him.
Reply:Every baby is different. Every environment is different. Some might know their names by 4 months, some may be later. You might want to try more calling him by his name. If other developments are normal, after a week of intense "training" he'd likely to know his name. Otherwise, if you are really concerned, a visit to the pediatrician won't hurt..
Reply:It's different for all babies. My daughter learned at 6 mts, my boys around 9 or 10 mts.
Reply:I guess all babies are different... My baby would turn her head when someone called her name and she's been doing that probably since about 3 months old... I'm everything's just fine, if he's doing good with everthing else... Good luck!
Reply:I think it's different with every baby and really depends on how much you call your baby by their name and not a nickname....
Johnny has just started responding to his name within the past month. He's 7.5 months now.
Reply:My daughters almost 6 months and knows her name...
